First-Ever Virtual Victoria Falls Marathon

Annual Race Goes Online

Though the annual Victoria Falls Marathon could not be physically run this year due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held on a virtual basis! It took place on 13th December 2020 and runners from across the world were able to join via the SportSplits Tracker app; they could participate in their home country while the app tracked their progress as per the usual marathon race route along with the distances and time.

Generally, the Victoria Falls Marathon has a route that takes runners across Victoria Falls Bridge and past the famed falls; this magnificent sight can be seen from Zimbabwe as well as Zambia and is easily accessed from a Livingstone hotel including the likes of The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara. With this new virtual race, runners could see themselves on the route via an avatar along with real-time results be it for the full or half marathons or the shorter “Fun Run”.
