The International Youth Day was celebrated in grand style by Anantara resorts in Sir Bani Yas Island including the much reputed Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort, Abu Dhabi known as a socially connected Sir Bani Yas Island hotel by giving a unique opportunity for resident children in their resorts to participate in their Green Footprint Programme free of charge. The International Youth Day which fell on 12th, 13th and 14th of August this year was appropriately themed ‘Youth Civic Engagement’ which was totally embraced by Anantara by offering the “Green Footprint” seen as a unique educational opportunity getting children actively involved as the decision makers and influencers of the future combining the conservation of the Bani Yas Island. The children in the age group 4 to 12 were engaged in the programme where each one of them got a chance to plant their own mangrove tree and leave their green footprint on Sir Bani Yas Island which will eventually have a positive impact on the island’s soil, water, vegetation and animal life in the years to come.
