Hong Kong visitors on an increase in the first half of 2019 – A gentle hope for a booming tourism

According to the latest statistics provided by the Statistics and Census Service, in the first half of 2019, visitor arrivals to Hong Kong have reached 20.28 million which accounts up to 20.6% increase year-on-year. This indicated a clear boom in the country’s hospitality sector as well because Macau Five Star Hotels were all booked and filled with tourists coming from different parts of the world, especially in the month of June.

When inquired about the state of local tourism from the authorities of hotel chains the likes of Hotel Okura Macau, it was revealed that the local tourism sector, however, has faced a slight decline and the immediate reason for this could be the recommendation for the local residents by Macau’s Tourism Crisis Management Office to cautiously plan their trips to Hong Kong. But, it’s everyone’s hope that both international and local tourism in the country reach it’s expected goals by the end of 2019, making a fresh start for 2020 with a strategic vision in tourism.
