Hong Kong’s Mid Autumn Festival in 2019 – A Colourful Cultural Celebration

One of the most significant cultural celebrations in Hong Kong, the Mid Autumn Festival will take place on 13 September 2019; it coincides with the eighth lunar month’s 15th day and was traditionally celebrated as a day to give thanks for a bountiful harvest season. The festival is marked with displays of colourful lanterns, cultural performances and the eating of mooncakes.

In Hong Kong, Mid Autumn Festival celebrations will take place in various locations including a special carnival at Victoria Park. Those visiting from abroad and looking to visit this site can stay at a Wan Chai hotel within easy reach of the park including properties such as Dorsett Wanchai. This carnival will feature a fire dragon dance, folk songs, lantern displays and more. Tsim Sha Tsui and Tai Hang are some of the other locales where you can look to enjoy the festivities of the Mid Autumn Festival in 2019.
