The renowned travel news provider, CNN Travel recently featured an article on how to explore the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka. A destination that attracts many a traveller from all over the world, Sri Lanka was named as one of the “hottest destinations in Asia”. The article highlighted must-see places of interest like the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where one can also find art galleries, jewellery shops, cafes and colonial architecture. The article further mentioned international hospitality brands established in the southern coastline of Sri Lanka such as Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort. Also featured were the Hindu and Buddhist temples found across the Southern region such as the Sithulpawwa Temple, Aranwella Temple and the Mulkirigala Rock Temple which is located close to many a Tangalle hotel on the south coast. CNN Travel further suggested that travellers could set out to sea on whale-watching boat trips that depart from Mirissa, enjoy an exotic journey amidst the wildlife of the Yala National Park and carve through the barrelling waves in Arugam Bay.
