At the end of October, 94% of resorts in Maldives had reopened as the country looks to kick-start the tourism and hospitality industry. Following the opening of its international borders in July this year, resorts have been reopening in stages with the likes of Milaidhoo Island Maldives amongst the properties now welcoming guests once more. Be it a stay at a Maldives water villa with pool or exciting water sports, the country continues to offer tourists memorable holiday experiences.
The tourism industry received a boost in September when the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC) granted the country the “Safe Travels Stamp” which will serve to encourage travellers to visit. Furthermore, in December 2020, the Maldives is set to launch the first-ever loyalty programme for tourists offering exclusive benefits as well.
