Inaugural Cinnamon City Hotels Premier League – CCPL’s First Tournament a Roaring Success

The first ever Cinnamon’s city hotels Premier League also known as the CCPL took place on the 28th of August with the participation of the Cinnamon Group’s main city hotels, Cinnamon Red Colombo, The Cinnamon Grand and Cinnamon Lakeside. The brainchild of the management unit of the popular resort group’s city hotels, the cricket tournament was conducted at Thurstan Grounds with great fanfare with more than 500 hotel employees and associated joining in the revelry.

The Cinnamon Grand emerged as the winner of the inaugural CCPL after a number of hard fought victories with the team from Cinnamon Lakeside coming in second. The event was organized with the hopes of promoting professional relations and camaraderie between the three Colombo city hotels which are considered among the top accommodation providers in the Sri Lankan capital. Awards were also handed out to the winning team’s captain while the Man of the Tournament and the Best Bowler and Best Batsman were also given prizes.
