Although the Maldives was open for international travellers since 2020, Indians were not allowed to enter the country due to the pandemic status in India. COVID 19 pandemic hit India quite hard during the past few months, and the country reported some of the highest death tolls back in the day.
However, the Maldivian Government decided to welcome Indian travellers to the country from July 2021. Every Maldives resort the likes of Kurumba Maldives will now accommodate Indian travellers as well, and these travellers will also have to follow the general guidelines such as social distancing and wearing masks whenever they go out. Every Indian traveller should present a negative PCR test result report at the airport upon arrival and according to the latest news, many direct flights have agreed to operate from India to the Maldives as well.
