Jokowi, Modi Meeting Expected to Attract more Indian Tourists to Indonesia – Strengthening Bonds for Tourism

The meeting between the President of Indonesia, Jokowi Widodo and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is a historic event for both countries. It is hoped that the meeting of both parties will help push up tourism from India. Jokowi and Modi flew Kites together at the Indonesia – India Kite Exhibition in Monas.

This event was part of the celebrations for a steady 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Tourism Minister Arief Yahya states that Indonesia hopes to see an increase in the number of tourists coming in from India by 30% or in other words at least 700,000 Indian tourist arrivals this year. The most popular destinations, especially for honeymoon holidays among Indians, is Bali. Resorts in the area such as Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort are ready and waiting to welcome large numbers of visitors.
