The largest open-air art fair in Sri Lanka, Kala Pola is a not to be missed and much-awaited event in the annual cultural calendar of Colombo. Offering a platform to launch careers of talented sculptors and painters, this year, Kala Pola was held on the 25th of February; it celebrated its silver jubilee as over 300 sculptors and artists from all corners of Sri Lanka came together in Colombo. Over the past years, this event has been a major tourist and cultural attraction as well.

John Keells has had a long involvement with Kala Pola while supporting and promoting local artists on its online Sri Lankan Art Gallery which displays a myriad of Sri Lanka art. Kala Pola with its open-air exhibition featured an array of stalls that displayed a variety of paintings, sculptures, drawings and installations.
