Sri Lanka is known for being a traditional and cultural land, sticking to their religious values. The Kandy Esala Perahera is a prime example of this, and this year’s event is scheduled to happen on the 5th August 2019 till 15th August 2019.
The Esala Perahera that’s held in Kandy annually is one of the oldest Buddhist festivals, featuring plenty of grandeur such as musicians, dancers, acrobats, tuskers and elephants parading the streets. The festivities last for 10 days and can be easily witnessed if you’re staying at any one of the Cinnamon Hotels and & Resorts properties. When you decide where to stay in Colombo, consider the travel time to the hills, in order to witness an old tradition coming to life.
