Cementing its reputation as one of the most popular destinations for tourists, the Maldives emerged as one of the big winners at last month’s World Travel Awards which focused on Africa and the Indian Ocean. The country was awarded the top accolades for three Indian Ocean categories namely Leading Beach Destination, Leading Honeymoon Destination and Leading Dive Destination. In Maldives, 5 star resorts including the likes of Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives offer guests a chance to experience all these three elements which keep bringing in tourists year after year.

The awards which took place on the 1st of June 2019 at the Sugar Beach Resort in Mauritius was a star-studded event and featured some of the top destinations and names in the industry. Such recognition is expected to further enhance the reputation of the Maldives and will no doubt play a part in attracting more travellers in 2019.
