Kite Festival in Negombo Sri Lanka; A colorful spectacle in the sky.

The national kite festival 2017, named ‘Nil Ahase Wasanthaya’ will be held on the 12th and 13th August 2017 from 8.00 am onwards at the Negombo beach park. Staying at any hotel in Negombo Sri Lanka such as ones located on the beach like Jetwing Beach, will allow you easy access to the festival. Participants may compete in two categories; the under 15 years category will be held on the 12th and the open category will be held on the 13th. The event features exciting activities such as face painting sessions, kite campsites, magic shows, workshops, various fun games and DJ music apart from the contests. Contestants of the under 15 category will be judged under the themes of most creative kite, ‘a drug free world’ and ‘dengue prevention’. The open category will be judged under themes of ‘the highest flying kite’ and many more apart from the above categories.
