Krabi Airport Renovation Nearing Completion: Expansion to international services incoming

The Krabi Airport, which has been under construction for years to expand its services, has reported an 87% progress towards completion as of July 2023. According to internal department statements, the commission will be completed in late 2024, with the new services planned to be opened by 2025. Including the construction of a new passenger terminal as well as upgrades to existing terminals, the overall construction is expected to increase accommodation from the current 1500 individuals per hour to 3000 per hour.

As part of a national strategy to expand infrastructure, this will provide opportunities for private businesses and the country itself, be it trade or hospitality, to flourish with better access to the outside world, where many 4-star hotels in Krabi like the popular Avani Ao Nang stand to reap a lot of benefits from these incoming services.
