Kuningan Day and Sakenan Temple’s ‘Piodalan’ Anniversary

The annual Piodalan anniversary of the Sakenan Temple also known as the Tirta Empul took place on the 6th of May 2015. The temple complex which is an important religious complex in the region is located in the village of Manukaya Bali. This cultural heritage site was built 960 AD and depicts of a traditional story between good and evil.

The celebration consists of a bathing ritual of devotees and pilgrims visiting the sacred temple complex. During the anniversary many Hindu devotees visit the Tirta Empul Temple and even purchase souvenirs as well as local food items.
