Kyoto To Be the Hub of Japanese Culture Once More – An Ancient Capital with Much to Offer

In March this year, the Cultural Affairs Agency of Japan relocated from the nation’s capital, Tokyo, to one of its ancient capitals, Kyoto. This move is the first of its kind for a central government agency since the Meiji Era and is part of an initiative by the government to focus on regional revitalisation. Domestic and international communications from the Cultural Affairs Agency will now originate in Kyoto and it’s also expected to provide the city with a higher status and profile.

It should be noted that this city is the cultural capital of Japan with a rich history and heritage making it a popular tourist destination as well. Amongst the top things to do in Kyoto for such travellers is to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites here including ancient temples, shrines and other cultural attractions; amongst these is the famed Nijo Castle close to properties like Park Hotel Kyoto. Those based at such a centrally located accommodation provider of the Park Hotel Group can also easily access other key places of interest including the Kinkaku-ji Temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Nishiki Market and more.
