Lake Hayes Triathlon 2016 – Ushering in Christmas with Sports

It’s Christmas and it’s the time that families and friends come together. With half the globe celebrating Jesus Christ’s birthday there’s always many seasonal sporting events that are much anticipated. New Zealand however celebrates one of its favorite triathlons in the gleaming days of summer. Known to be New Zealand’s oldest triathlon, the Lake Hayes Triathlon started in 1983 and is famous world over for its exciting sporting line-up. The much anticipated triathlon is to kick-off on Tuesday 27th December this year and as always is held around the beautiful environs of Lake Hayes. New Zealand is an attraction in its own right and with its range of Queenstown ski hotels and riverfront apartments like Oaks Shores on offer, visitors will surely be spoilt for choice. The day will start with the ‘Lake Hayes Half’ event and will also see other events such as the Trail Run, Sprint Tri and Duathlon and DU IT challenge.
