The Langkawi Art Biennale 2016 concluded on a high note amidst much fanfare with the theme ‘exploration’ attracting art lovers and artists from around the globe. The many artworks displayed at the occasion explored themes such as natural beauty, local food, ways of life, religion and cultural aspects of Langkawi and beyond. The partnership between brush painters from China and Malaysia was one of the highlights of the event which focused on shared artistry with other painters from far away countries such as Iran, Korea and Germany. The artworks that showcased ancient tales of Kedah state were some of the much sought after pieces at the Art Biennale 2016. If you are planning a trip to Langkawi parallel to the next Art Biennale, and looking for a place to stay, The Datai Langkawi is a conveniently located resort. Langkawi holds the annual Art Biennale in an attempt to make the area the next art destination in Malaysia.
