Lanka Challenge Rickshaw Adventure’ Successfully Completed the Southern Route from 8th-17th September 2017

Providing an exhilarating experience across Sri Lanka, the Lanka Challenge Rickshaw Adventure travelled along the Southern Route in September. Adventurous, entertaining and memorable, the tour took its enthusiastic participants across 1,000 km in Southern Sri Lanka. Those who were based at a Bentota resort such as the well placed AVANI Bentota Resort & Spa or other accommodation options in the south coast had the opportunity of catching a few glimpses of the race action.

The journey included a checkpoint at Minuwangoda where participants were trained how to ride a rickshaw which they then took along a route that included stops at such popular tourist destinations as Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Arugam Bay, Yala and Colombo. The event set apart a significant amount of money from the entry fees towards helping local communities; 10% of the revenue is donated to tree-planting campaigns and flagship charity projects as well.
