Recent reports reveal that the Phuket Governor has advised all the people participating in the Phuket Vegetarian Festival to abstain from entertaining themselves with firecrackers and for the spirit mediums to lessen the face piercings practised during the event; this request has been made in respect of the cremation of the recently deceased King Bhumibol Adulyadej which is scheduled during the same time.
The Phuket Vegetarian Festival 2017 is to be held from the 20th to 28th October while the royal cremation will take place on 26th October. A vibrant event celebrated throughout the nation, the event attracts many visitors from all over the world due to the unique religious rituals and festivities. Those planning to base themselves in one of the boutique hotels in Phuket including properties along the coast such as Anantara Layan Phuket Resort can look forward to catching the highlights of the festival.
