Lonely Planet Names Lesotho as One of the World’s Best Places to Go Off-Grid

One of the highest nations in the world in terms of elevation, Lesotho in Southern Africa was named by Lonely Planet as being one of the best destinations to go off-grid. This was highlighted on the Lonely Planet website on 26th December 2022 as part of its “15 best places to go off-grid around the world in 2023”; amongst Lesotho’s key features that were mentioned were the Maluti and Drakensberg Mountain Ranges as well as the chance to go trekking or hiking and meeting local shepherds.

It should be noted that this enchanting country has much more to offer as well. Travellers looking for modern experiences can head to the capital, Maseru, where they can enjoy sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment along with the comforts of a contemporary hotel; Lesotho outdoor adventures await here as well and those staying at properties like Avani Lesotho Hotel & Casino can embark on nature-based tours and pony trekking too.
