Lonely Planet is a well-known authority on travel and tourism news, and Sri Lanka being ranked the number one country to visit in 2019 is a big win for the tourism industry, hotels and beach resorts in Sri Lanka. The pearl of the Indian ocean is finally getting the recognition it deserves on the global tourism map, which was long overdue.

Hotels such as Mermaid Hotel & Club and many others also play a part in bringing in tourists to Sri Lanka. The year 2019 looks hopeful for the tiny island, with its new brand identity campaign. This achievement was featured on international sites and magazines in multiple languages, generating traffic for markets in Sri Lanka.
