Loy Krathong 2017 – A Colourful Festival in the Water

The annual Loy Krathong celebration in Bangkok will be held at Asiatique. The banks of Wat Saket and Phra Athit Pier are a few other places visitors may go to celebrate and enjoy the wonderful spectacle. Loy Krathong is one of the most popular festivals in Thailand. This is a graceful festival where devotees float lotus shaped rafts adorned with flowers and candles in rivers, canals and lakes to pay homage to the goddess of water. This is an event usually celebrated in November on the night of the 12th lunar moon. The illuminated water ways are usually a spectacular sight especially for visitors engaging in Bangkok river cruises. If you are staying in a hotel located in close proximity to the river such as Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, head down to the banks to witness this colourful spectacle to yourselves.
