The Lunar New Year also called the Chinese New Year is the mark of the beginning of a brand-new year according to the Gregorian calendar. The date usually falls on a January or February, this year the Chinese New Year celebrations take place on the 25th of January. The celebrations continue for about 3 to 4 days. During this special festival, Chinese communities across the world, particularly Hong Kong come to life with bright lights and colourful carnivals everywhere.
If you happen to be travelling from overseas and lodged at a hotel like Travelodge Central Hollywood, Hong Kong, the hotel might have its own celebrations and offers to go with it too. However, Victoria Harbour is quite close to many a hotel in Soho, Hong Kong as well and will have a host of activities going on if you’d like to pay a visit. But the best part of it all is the fireworks display that goes on for nearly half an hour lighting up the waters and the night sky.
