At the end of May this year, the Zhuhai government made an announcement of the proposed construction of a bridge that will link Jiangmen and Zhuhai, making the journey to Macau 18 kilometres shorter.
Construction of the bridge will commence in 2020 and is to be completed in 2023. It will connect with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge along with the Lianhua Mt. Channel, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge and the Huangpu and Humen bridges; this will help form a convenient Greater Bay Area transport network.
This is good news for all industries located in the districts that will benefit from this bridge network, particularly in Macau. Five star hotels in the region the likes of Hotel Okura Macau, as well as local casinos, would find that being accessible to more clients from Hong Kong would bring about more revenue.
