Malaysia Wins Silver Award at APAC Ceremony: Boosting Tourism with Innovation

Malaysia Tourism was recognised with a prestigious Silver Award in the Government/Public Sector Category at the Drum Marketing Awards APAC in May. The award was granted in recognition of the campaign ‘Selamat Kembali to Malaysia’, created by BBC StoryWorks for the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in 2023.

The campaign was designed to leverage the growing interest in immersive travel experiences to increase visibility and brand awareness of Malaysia as a premier destination filled with must-see attractions. It focused on affluent and sophisticated travellers, encouraging them to explore beyond the typical and discover the unique attractions of Malaysia. Consequently, the campaign exceeded expectations and boosted brand visibility and purchase intent with BBC StoryWorks.

Malaysia features several islands that make for enticing destinations for off-the-beat vacations like Langkawi, Sibu Island, Penang Island, Selingan Turtle Island and more. To further invite tourists, some of them feature idyllic resorts and hotel accommodations like Rebak Island Resort and Marina Langkawi. This and several other top resorts in Langkawi and other islands offer various adventures and experiences for travellers to explore hidden cultural and natural wonders.
