It officially began on 1st January 2021 and was marked by a ceremony at the Velana International Airport as the country welcomed its first tourist for the year; this traveller was gifted with a bronze tier loyalty card of the programme which has two more tiers namely silver and gold, each featuring diverse benefits and rewards.

Those who sign up for Maldives Border Miles can earn points based on various criteria be it the frequency of travel, stay duration or if travelling to celebrate a special event or occasion.
