Maldives is planning to introduce homestay tourism in January 2022 – A new aspect to the Maldives tourism

The Tourism Minister of the Maldives recently declared that the government will introduce Homestay Tourism in the country soon. Locals have already expressed their acceptance of this new concept, and the relevant laws and regulations have also been made. According to the minister, this new concept will come into action from January 2022.

This new concept will first start in Meemu Dhiggaru with 50 rooms and then it will go to other atolls such as Faafu, Baa, Haa Alif, and Dhaalu. These islands currently have no guest houses and the locals are looking forward to having a touch of tourism on their residing islands. In addition to these, travellers who love to enjoy luxury travel experiences may enjoy the luxury and comforts offered by world-class properties by popular hotel chains such as Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
