Maldives on track to reach 1.3mn tourist arrivals for 2021 – Tourism is on the rise

The Maldives is nothing short of amazing in its strategies and systems set in place to ensure the comeback of tourism with a bang. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic still spreading across the globe, the number of tourism arrivals in the country has made it to about 800,000 from the beginning of the year. The target for this year’s arrivals for Maldives is 1.3 million and they are already halfway there.

Every resort in Maldives follows strict guidelines in order to keep the spread of COVID-19 under control. Resorts like Reethi Faru Resort have seen an increase in arrivals since the previous year and the best part is that travellers too abide by the stern health and safety rules. The number of travellers setting foot on the island has already surpassed pre-pandemic targets in August 2021. India, Russia, and Germany are the main markets that have been active during this period.
