As part of a programme to attract more visitors from the Middle East, “Maldives, the Sunny Side of Life” was a special country promotion held during the recently concluded Arabian Travel Market (ATM). Held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22nd to 25th April, 2018 this special exhibition featured a variety of highlights; these included vibrant images of the country, underwater VR experiences, Maldivian food and social media campaigns.
The Middle East is seen as a key market and as having a lot of potential when it comes to drawing in visitors be it to stay at island hotels or Maldives villas based at island resorts the likes of Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives. In fact, from the January to March period this year, there has already been a growth of 5% in tourist arrivals from the Middle East region to the Maldives when compared to last year. Such promotions at the Arabian Travel Market are expected to further increase visitors to the country.
