The Maldives, renowned for its pristine beaches and luxury resorts, has seen a significant boost in tourist arrivals in September, with an impressive 8.6% growth compared to the same period last year. According to the Ministry of Tourism’s latest weekly statistics released on Saturday, between September 1 and 13, the Maldives welcomed 51,950 tourists.
While this growth is noteworthy, it falls just short of the 53,802 arrivals recorded during the same period in 2021. The highest daily arrivals for September occurred on September 10, with over 4,600 visitors. On average, tourists are staying for seven days at Maldives villas, with a daily average of 3,996 arrivals in September.
Since the beginning of the year, the Maldives has welcomed a total of 1,282,031 tourists, with monthly figures consistently surpassing 100,000 arrivals. The country continues to attract travellers seeking its stunning natural beauty and world-class hospitality at resorts like Baros Maldives. This steady influx of tourists reflects the Maldives’ enduring appeal as a premier global travel destination.
