Millions of Chinese Tourists are Going on Holiday Again: Many of Them are Headed for Thailand

Thai tourism has started to ramp up again, and a key policy that has spearheaded this revival is the visa-free policy for Chinese travellers proposed by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. This policy began on September 25th, timed right before the beginning of China’s Golden Week; and will run all the way to February 29th next year.

To welcome the Chinese tourists arriving from Shanghai, they were adorned with gifts at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport by the Prime Minister, and he implored in a statement that people from other cities of China are also more than welcome to enjoy the vistas around its pagodas, markets and overall allure. Stays at a 4-star hotel in Phuket by the riverside, at properties such as NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort, will also entice tourists with the country’s charm.
