The Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan initiated the opening of an eco-tourism zone in Maldives’ Addu City, accompanied by the Foreign Minister of Maldives Abdullah Shahid. The Maldivians expressed their gratitude for the Indian grants provided to them to develop the tourism zone and pledged to improve community activity through them.
Maldives is one of India’s key allies and this partnership could spell multiple mutual benefits for the two nations. Maldives is an important place in the Prime Ministers’ “Security and Growth for All in the Region” and Maldives welcomes thousands of Indian travellers each year, who enjoy a beachside stay at a Maldives resort bungalow such as the likes of Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives. This partnership must continue to be fostered to create strong regional bonds in the Indian Ocean.
