Mukuni Foods & Arts Festival Held in Livingstone – A Celebration of Local Culture

Last month the Mukuni Foods & Arts Festival was held in the Zambian town of Livingstone. This colourful event took place on Saturday, 5th August 2023 and provided insights into both traditional and modern aspects related to local cuisine as well as arts and crafts. It was open from 10 in the morning till 10 at night at a site along Mukuni Road near Victoria Falls; Zambia hotels in Livingstone provided an ideal base for those who visited this festival which catered to the whole family.

Apart from a range of stalls offering food and drink as well as showcasing fascinating handicrafts, it featured live entertainment, dancers, artists, face painting, a special photo booth, competitions and much more. Those who missed the Mukuni Foods & Arts Festival can still experience the local culture and traditional culinary creations during a stay at nearby properties like The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara. It offers guests a chance to enjoy what is known as a ‘Cultural Boma Dinner’; here, one can look forward to a typical village get-together outdoors, share a meal by firelight and witness various performances which can include those by Ngoni warriors or traditional Makishi dancers.
