Myanmar attended the annual Mekong Tourism Forum held on the 12th of October along with members from other countries such as Cambodia, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Lao PDR. During the forum, Myanmar conveyed the message that the country is open to tourists despite its ongoing difficulties that will soon be resolved. The travel advisories issued by many countries have drastically reduced the tourist arrivals to the country, while travelers who have already arrived do not wish to stay long.
The country resumed international flights in April, with a few health requirements still applicable to those who travel. In a situation where flying to Myanmar is unavoidable, choosing a safe Yangon hotel such as the Pan Pacific Yangon can limit the risks involved with the country’s political unrest.
