Namibia, Germany pump N$132.4m into infrastructure upgrades at parks – Boosting Tourism in Namibia

As part of the German initiative to boost tourism potential across Namibia, the two countries have agreed to jointly fund infrastructure upgrades to Dorob and Skeleton Coast National Parks. This is done to recover from the hit by the Namibian tourism industry since COVID-19, and many hotspots in many areas of Namibia such as hotels in Windhoek are expected to be affected.

It is also part of Germany’s commitment to supporting Namibian development, particularly in areas of tourism and conservation, and the upgrades are also expected to affect nearby communities and properties across the country such as the Avani Windhoek Hotel and Casino, as part of tourist attractions, while the funding is planned to be implemented by the Namibia Development Corporation.
