According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, the first-ever VTL, or the Vaccinated Travel Lane, between Batam and Bintan in Indonsia and Singapore, was launched on February 25th this year. On February 16th, during a press conference by the multi-ministry task force, the Transport Minister of Singapore made the initial announcement about the Vaccinated Travel Lane between Singapore and the two Indonesian regions.
At present, tourists can travel from Singpore to NIFT (Nongsapura International Ferry Terminal) in Batam and BBTFT (Bandar Bintan Telani Ferry Terminal) in Bintan without being required to quarantine. The new Vaccinated Travel Lane (sea) allows bi-directional quarantine-free travel, and fully vaccinated travellers who were holidaying either at Batam or a property such as The Residence Bintan were granted access to Singapore via this Vaccinated Travel Lane (sea) from the 25th February. This proved to be convenient for those who wanted to spend their holidays in Singapore, Batam, and Bintan Island. Things to do are many in these locations and the need to quarantine wouldn’t leave much time to enjoy these activities.
