Offering locals and visitors a unique chance to truly discover the city’s architectural heritage, Open House Melbourne is set to take place yet again this year on the 25th and 26th of July. The concept behind this event is to let people explore historical & modern structures they would not otherwise have access to and so for this period many well known buildings are open free to the public. An easy way to explore the city during this time would be to stay at centrally located hotels in Melbourne CBD such as Oaks on Collins.
During Open House Melbourne 2015 more than 100 buildings will allow free access to visitors giving them a chance to enjoy not only exquisite exterior architecture, but intricate interior design as well. Inaugurated in 2008, this event has over the years included famous landmarks like the Royal Children’s Hospital, Rialto Towers, the Old Treasury Building, Victorian Trades Hall, Parliament House and the Melbourne Town Hall. As part of Open House Melbourne, a range of workshops, exhibitions and tours will be held as well.
