Alaska Tourism Restoration

Passage of Alaska Tourism Restoration Act likely means a boost for Seattle’s economy – Positive signs

The USA previously had a law stating that any foreign-owned or flagged ship cannot take passengers directly between American ports for the 2021 season. This had a negative impact on most of the passenger ships because the majority of cruise ships are foreign-owned or flagged ones. President Biden recently signed a new act named ‘Alaska Tourism Restoration Act’ waiving off the above requirement and this will be immediately put upon action for the 2021 season.

Now, the 2021 Alaska cruise season can start in Seattle and this will be great news for every 5-star luxury hotel near Space Needle the likes of Pan Pacific Seattle, and other similar properties. It is known that the 2020 cruise season was ruined by the COVID 19 pandemic, and many experts have praised this initiative taken to uplift the 2021 season. The 2022 season status also depends on the situation of the pandemic by that time.
