Phang Nga launches the Post Covid Syndrome Travel Campaign – Medical Tourism to the Rescue

To revive the battered tourism sector in Phang Nga, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports has set in motion what is known as the “Post COVID Syndrome travel” campaign. Being the first of its kind, this unique travel campaign will combine traditional Thai medicine with integrated medicine to offer a bespoke wellness package that helps individuals with post-Covid syndromes to heal fast. This one-of-a-kind wellness programme is a joint effort of the Prince of Songkla University of Faculty of Thai traditional medicine, La Vela Hotel group, Khao Lak and the Andaman Gulf of Thailand Health promotions Hotels Associations.

Considered a venture that strives to promote the concept of a creative economy with a combination of knowledge, creativity and technology, it is anticipated that the programme will support local businesses and, business operators in Phang Nga to thrive during the post covid recovery phase and add value to Thailand’s economy. Despite Phang Nga being the first province of Thailand to reap the benefits of this novel health tourism campaign, it can easily be adopted by other localities of the country such as Phuket. For instance, A luxury Phuket Resort the likes of Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas can easily incorporate this unique wellness package into their signature spa journey to offer its guests a more inclusive experience.
