In March this year, TIME magazine published its coveted list of “The World’s Greatest Places of 2023” which featured 50 destinations across the world; of these, two of them were in Thailand, namely the island of Phuket and the Isan province, each with captivating discoveries in store for visitors. Phuket which is known for its beaches and being the country’s most visited region was highlighted for its family-friendly appeal; this included aspects like the opening of the expansive, culturally focused theme park, Carnival Magic, in September 2022.
Also mentioned were attractions like the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary where travellers can get up close to these gentle giants and learn more about them. It should be noted that the island additionally offers ideal accommodation for families staying at a Bangtao Beach resort; this includes properties which feature a kids’ club, water sports and fun activities like those on offer at SAii Laguna Phuket. Meanwhile, Isan was also put in the spotlight on TIME magazine’s list; apart from its distinctive cuisine, which is loved the world over, the region is home to Khmer temple ruins, Michelin-recommended restaurants and diverse wildlife at Khao Yai, the nation’s first national park.
