Potential for Botswana to Draw More GCC Travellers – Luxury Safaris Among Its Allures

Botswana has the potential to draw more high-end travellers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), offering everything from luxury safaris to stunning wildlife encounters. This was put in the spotlight on 16th January 2025 on the Consultancy-me.com website, which cited a report from Glasgow Research & Consulting, which is based in Dubai. It was further revealed that this African nation provides exclusive safaris for high-spending visitors while prioritising sustainable tourism. To tap into this burgeoning GCC market, Botswana needs to collaborate with local stakeholders, airlines (both regional and international) and tourism operators in the Middle East while enhancing its visa processing procedures as well.

It should be noted that safari experiences in the country are not just relegated to famous sites like the Chobe National Park. For example, those staying at a hotel in Gaborone, the capital, enjoy easy access to the Gaborone Game Reserve, ideal for a family-friendly safari. Properties here, like Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, which also features a spa, restaurants, event spaces and gym, remain an ideal choice for travellers looking to enjoy the best of this destination, including those from the GCC.
