Prediction of Air Passenger Traffic Growth in 2022 – Tourism in Malaysia to Reach New Heights

Malaysia believes in the road to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Malaysian Aviation Commission forecasted growth in air passenger traffic from 316% to 525%, expecting passengers between the numbers of 32.6-49 to boost the growth process. While air traffic had already displayed growth in the months of September and October, as reported in December on the Malaysian Reserve, this will be a positive comeback for the country’s hotels and resorts with convenient hotel deals in Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur, and many more.

The easing travel restrictions were also deemed as a reason for the forecast. Currently, many Malaysian resorts like Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa have opened their doors for tourist arrivals, sealing the factual truth of the prediction made on air traffic. However, the country also predicted air cargo traffic in 2022, to grow by 3.9-6.7%.
