The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Committee of Thailand has authorised six projects worth 600 billion baht to be fast tracked. According to sources, these fast-tracked projects include the Purple Line between Tao Poon and Kanchanapisek ring road, the motorway between Nakhon Pathom and Cha-am and an electric railway that is expected to be constructed in the Chiang Mai province. At present, however, the expenditure of the proposed Chiang Mai project is yet to be finalised. This part of Thailand is also popular with tourists who can choose from a variety of Chiang Mai serviced apartments, resorts and hotels on offer such as Anantara Chiang Mai Resort. Once completed, these PPP projects are expected to boost the local economy and infrastructure in the respective regions of Thailand.
