Queensland Tourism Eases Restrictions
Hopes that Domestic Tourists Will Increase
The tourism industry in Queensland had cause to be optimistic as the state continued easing of restrictions put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stage five of this process came into effect this month with the borders opened for NSW. If all goes well, Stage Six will commence in December with measures such as the maximum capacity for outdoor venues being increased to 1,500; additionally, weddings that strictly follow a COVID Safe Plan will be allowed to have unlimited dancing.
As quoted in an online article published by The North West Star in October, Daniel Gschwind, the CEO of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council, said that it was hoped that more visitors would begin to arrive; this would give the industry a much-needed boost.
