Queensland’s border with Greater Sydney and Victoria reopens – New beginnings in travel

Brisbane received flights from Sydney and the Sunshine state also welcomed visitors from Victoria after 8 long months in December 2020, and that marked the end of a long and hard period of domestic travel restrictions. During the first week, nearly 6000 interstate travellers came to Queensland, and this was the highest domestic arrival reported after 8 dull months due to the COVID -19 conditions.

Townsville also received several domestic travellers after a while, and properties offering hotel accommodation in Townsville the likes of Oaks Townsville Gateway Suites are likely to have received many bookings as a result. It was also a relief for the police officers who were working hard at road checkpoints to go back to their regular duties. However, public health officials still request all citizens to adhere to safety guidelines imposed by them.
