Queenstown Bike Festival – Pedal Powered Fun

An annual event that lets families and serious enthusiasts a chance to celebrate bike riding and the region’s spectacular natural scenery, the Queenstown Bike Festival took place this year from 13th to 22nd March. Travellers had the option of staying in Queenstown itself including the Oaks Shores property belonging to Anantara Vacation Club. Reviews of this popular biking festival have been positive with this 10 day event offering a range of challenges and entertainment each year for young and old alike.

Featuring cross-country biking, free-riding, downhill riding and special events for kids, the Queenstown Bike Festival 2015 continued the trend and hosted social rides, concerts and film events as well. Amongst the winners at this year’s festival competitions include Jimmy Pollard who came first in the Individual Open Men category in the Vertigo Bikes Super D challenge and Kylie Parkes who topped the list in the individual women’s category at the same event.
