Abu Dhabi intensified efforts to exceed the 24 million visitor target by the end of 2023. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) announced ten “joint marketing programmes” with leading travel brands. These partnerships were made in the hope of bolstering tourism in the UAE capital and reinforcing its appeal to European travellers.
Key collaborators include Trailfinders, One on the Beach, Destination 2, and Kenwood Travel, each bringing unique strengths to the strategic marketing initiatives. Additionally, existing agreements with industry giants such as Lastminute.com, Expedia, Amadeus, and Dnata were extended to provide further support in achieving Abu Dhabi’s ambitious visitor goal.
The collaborative efforts also involved Voyage Prive, focusing on integrating 5 star hotels in Abu Dhabi into its portfolio, and El Corte Ingles, a Spanish firm and owner of Viajes El Corte Ingles travel agency. These initiatives underscore Abu Dhabi’s commitment to leveraging its cultural and tourism assets including experiences at hotels like Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi to attract a diverse range of visitors and achieve sustainable growth in the tourism sector.
