Save the “street elephants!” Charity elephant polo tournament staged in Bangkok

The elephant polo tournament which was held for the 13th time in Bangkok concluded successfully. Held for three consecutive days starting from the 28th of August, the welfare event plays a major role in conserving street elephants. The organizers make sure that participating elephants are well fed and looked after throughout the tournament.

Guests who were accommodated at popular Bangkok serviced apartments such as Anantara Baan Rajprasong Bangkok Serviced Suites had the opportunity to witness this spectacular event and were even offered special packages and free entrance. Famous celebrities, players from the All Black rugby team and Thai supermodels were in attendance of the charity event. Fifty players from all over the world divided into sixteen teams took part to raise funds to help Thailand’s domesticated and wild elephants. The highlights of the event included the opening parade, the ladies and the children’s day. If you are planning a trip to Bangkok next year make sure you attend the elephant tournament.
