As stated by The Seychelles Tourism Board it has been noted that Chinese travellers have shown an increased interest in the Indian Ocean Archipelago which has made them turn towards sources that would give them more knowledge on its 115 islands. Seychelles was awarded the ‘2015 Chinese citizens favourite island destination’ which was presented to the secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune. The same was awarded to 20 more other destinations which included 10 international destinations and 10 destinations within China. The destinations were decided by Chinese citizens itself.
